1998 Virginia Rugby Union Annual General Meeting

Ruggers of the Virginia Rugby Union,

On Saturday, January 24, 1998, the Virginia Rugby Union will be holding the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The AGM will be held at the University of Richmond, in the Gottwald Science Center, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

It is required that you send a representative from your team. Every team in attendance will get to cast a vote on issues that decide the future of the Virginia Rugby Union. Be sure your team is represented!

At the meeting, the VRU will be handing out CIPP packages. Rules have changed under USA Rugby, requiring higher CIPP compliance. Therefore, to meet our obligations, we are asking each club in attendance to bring $10 to CIPP register their club at the AGM. Bring your club's information, i.e. permanent club mailing address, club phone number, etc. You will be CIPP registering just your club, not your players at this meeting.

Additionally, bring your club's officer information - names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses. This information will be submitted to Rugby Magazine's National Directory. Plus, this information will be used to update the VRU's current records.

Additional issues that will be covered include:

Officer reports

President

State of the Union, comments on past year

Vice-president

Don Bridges Fund, Tournaments, Tours,

In addition to these items, elections for the 1998 VRU Executive Committee will be held. There will be vacancies in the Executive Committee. Positions will change.

I can not stress the importance of having your team represented at this meeting. A single representative from your club is needed. If the club's president does not or can not attend, anybody from that team can be the team's representative. So, please, take the time to find an individual to represent your club.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. See you in January.
