1996 Budget Revisions: Status of Funds and Club Dues
High School/Youth Rugby
Mike Manaco as High School Coordinator be given access to a limit of $200 for support.
Virginia Tech Women
Motion - Grant the Virginia Tech Women $500 for trip to Colorado Springs for National playoffs
Motion carried unanimously without objection
Intention of board is to consider funding clubs above territorial level. Grants must be requested in writing. There was discussion whether funding would be available for final four or eight qualification. However, no consensus was reached.
VRU Home Page - Will be online by 1 June
Rugby Magazine Ad - The VRU has purchased an ad at a reduced rate. The ad list all the XV and 7's tournaments for the year as well as listed David Chapman as the contact person.
Coaching Clinic: Particulars - discussed level I clinic being sponsored by the VRU 23-25 August.
Motion - Reyn Kinzey; to accept the budget as proposed. Second: Erika Nussen. Motion passed without objection.
The motion to accept budget was down here after discussing budget revisions above, accepting grant request by the Virginia Tech Women, funds for youth rugby, and Rugby Magazine ad.
Delinquent Clubs
Updated Directory & VRU Calendar to clubs by 1 March 1996
Reviewed draft copy of 1996 directory. Two copies per club.
Motion to allow committee members to charge their accounts at $0.20 / mile for VRU related travel. After some debate, the motion carried.
Review of Ed Lee Cup bids
The bid is being held pending agreement between Roanoke and the RSV. According to Thompson, no one has contracted him.
Motion (Carl Schmitt) - to accept bid pending a written agreement between the Ed Lee Tournament director and the RSV president by 1 April. Seconded: Kris Kabza. After some discussion the motion passed 7-2 with Bob Urban and Reyn Kinzey against.
Approved Tournaments
Applications for 30/31 March tournaments not submitted yet (Kevin Coffey Memorial hosted by Radford U., and Porter Cup hosted by Richmond RFC.
Tournament directors responsible for team rosters with CIPP numbers. These need to be send to the Vice-president.
