  • Occupation

I am an applied economist. I teach Principles of Economics, Economic Development, Rural Economics to undergraduate students and Microeconomics and Managerial Economics to graduate students. I have taught at Radford University for 12 years. Previously I taught at the University of Texas at Dallas and the Hilo and Manoa Campuses of the University of Hawaii.

  • Interests

I am interested in international affairs, the environment, global security and world peace. Currently, I am collaborating with faculty at Virginia Tech, the Administrative Staff College of India, Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, and Beijing Normal University on projects related to environment and economic development.

  • Hobbies

I like to travel. I like to watch professional basket ball and football. I have run 9 marathons in Honolulu, Washington D.C. and Charlotte, North Carolina. I enjoy music and the movies.

  • Home Town

I was born in Secunderabad, India and raised as an "army brat". So I have adapted to many places as I grew up. I studied in Shishu Vihar in Bangalore, at St. Xavier's in Mirzapur, Ahmedabad and Our Lady of Good Counsel in Sion, Bombay. My residence is in Floyd county, Virginia about 9 miles from the scenic Blue Ridge parkway. My longest period of stay prior to my current stay in any one place was in Honolulu, Hawaii. Because of its Aloha, I consider it a home away from home. Hawaii info
