Executive Director, Radford University Foundations and

Assistant Vice President for University Advancement

 

DUTIES/
RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The Executive Director is responsible for long range planning and strategic initiatives for the Foundation that support the Radford University strategic plan.  The Executive Director is responsible for management of the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the Radford University Foundation and the Radford University Real Estate Foundation.  The Director is responsible for stewardship of the Board of Trustees, managing the Foundation’s staff, and working with the university’s administration and academic leadership.  The Executive Director reports to the vice President of Advancement and staffs the Foundations Board of Directors and various committees.  The Director works with legal counsel and consultants to develop policies, procedures and strategies for efficient management of the Foundation that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and result in their efficient operation.  The Executive Director is responsible for specialized research, data compilation and analysis and provides guidance in policy deliberations, investment analyses and other pertinent financial information to members of the Boards, and on the Audit and Investment Committees.  The Executive Director prepares and/or reviews the distribution of periodic financial information; prepares and/or reviews the preparation of the spendable amounts of the Foundation and University endowments; accommodates the annual audit of the Foundations; arranges for the preparation of the annual federal tax returns for the Foundations; and completes and/or supervises the completion of special projects assigned by the VP for University Advancement.


QUALIFICATIONS:  

BA degree with 3-5 years of financial and accounting experience working with a private foundation or similar organization.  The candidate will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.


COMPENSATION:   Salary is commensurate upon qualifications and experience.
