| DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Radford University (RU), a coeducational, comprehensive public university with 140 undergraduate and graduate programs, is seeking applications to fill the position of University Registrar. RU invites applications and nominations for an experienced leader to serve in this position. The successful candidate will ensure that the Office of the Registrar provides the highest level of service to faculty, students, and administrators and uses new technologies for the most efficient information management.
Reporting to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, the Registrar advises on strategic planning and direction of the office in the context of institutional priorities. The Registrar supports the academic mission of the University, playing an important role in advising on academic policy matters. This person also serves on multiple academic committees. The Registrar is responsible for managing staff, services, and budgets in the Office of the Registrar. Working with the office leadership team, the Registrar ensures the integrity and confidentiality of academic records, has oversight of the scheduling of courses and classrooms, and monitors academic policies related to curricular requirements. The Registrar also oversees academic registration, honors and awards, processing and reporting of grades, degree audits and enrollment verifications, graduation certification, and production of diplomas and transcripts. |
| QUALIFICATIONS: |
The successful candidate will possess an advanced degree and have a substantial record of professional accomplishments. A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in a registrar’s office is required. The candidate must demonstrate excellent analytical, managerial, written communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, and must show the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of faculty, students, and administrators. The successful candidate will be a major leader in the conversion of the university’s database system to Banner. Candidates must be knowledgeable about accepted higher education practices, FERPA, and other relevant federal and state policies and requirements. |
