Warehouse and Reporting
| DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Manages the Data Warehouse and Reporting team to design, develop, deploy and maintain the university's Enterprise Data Warehouse, operational data stores, data marts, and associated reporting functions. Develops and maintains project plans and task assignments to ensure timely completion of projects and service requests. Consults with customers to define specifications for new development or modifications to existing data structures and reporting views. Provides technical leadership and guidance to data warehouse architects, DBA's, and report analysts to ensure data models and reporting meet business requirements. Consults with vendors to obtain problem resolutions and technical solutions. Assists developers with testing and performance tuning to ensure efficient processes. Assists with report development as required. Coordinates training opportunities for technical staff professional development. Coordinates internal end user training to support university policies and procedures regarding access to and appropriate usage of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Ensures appropriate documentation of warehouse architecture, tables, data maps and databases is created and maintained to support technical staff and end users. |
| QUALIFICATIONS: |
Significant demonstrated experience with data warehouse design and development; data extraction, transformation and loading processes; Oracle 10g and Oracle Warehouse Builder. Development experience with PL/SQL, Cognos, C, is highly desirable. Experience with SunGard HE Banner application suite, Operational Data Store and Enterprise Data Warehouse a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and provide team leadership. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, with three years of experience with enterprise reporting and data warehouse architecture/design, or equivalent experience and training. |
