| DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: |
The Director of Enterprise Systems is a senior-level management position that reports directly to the Vice President of Information Technology & CIO and manages the Enterprise Systems department within the Division of Information Technology. This position includes responsibility for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise systems for Radford University. Oversees the programming staff, web developers, and the enterprise data warehouse team that support the core administrative systems, portal, and data warehouse for finance, human resources, student systems, financial aid, and advancement functions. Consults with other University senior management to set priorities for Enterprise Systems teams and translates those priorities into appropriate staff organization, project plans, and task assignments. Manages the system development life cycle including test plans to ensure vendor supplied software and patches meet security standards and industry best practices. Reports weekly status and activity of operations and projects to the CIO. Provides oversight, resource management, and quality assurance for Enterprise Systems-led projects. Collaborates with other IT directors and CIO to formulate strategic plans and operational priorities for the division. Ensures appropriate documentation is created and maintained to support technical and functional staff. Develops training plans to support new systems development and procedures, as well as, career development for staff. Responsible for hiring, managing, and evaluating staff within Enterprise Systems. Formulates, interprets, and enforces policies/procedures and has authority to determine personnel actions within the department. Manages Enterprise Systems operating budgets. |
| QUALIFICATIONS: |
Demonstrated experience in managing, implementing and supporting enterprise-wide administrative information systems. SunGard HE Banner experience preferred. Excellent planning and project management skills; superior organizational, analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills. Ability to interpret and enforce technology policies and procedures. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment as part of a team, and with diverse groups, while maintaining an environment of mutual respect. Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, budgets, and supervising staff. Ability to effectively provide professional development opportunities for staff. Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 7 years of progressively more responsible experience in Information Systems management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advance degree preferred. |
