The Ensemble performs on music instruments developed by the German composer Carl Orff, consisting of pitched and unpitched percussion instruments and recorders of various sizes. Rhythmic speech, singing, movement and imagination are also important elements in the Ensemble's music.

Directors of the MC Orff Ensemble are Ms. Cheryl St. John, Music Teacher at Christiansburg Elementary School, and Dr. Marilyn Meador, Professor of Music at Radford University.
