Chinese Arts
March 17 & 18, 2000



REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Attend workshop sessions on Friday/Saturday, March 17/18.

  2. Purchase materials which will support your post-workshop project. Click here for a list of suggested materials.

  3. Do a post-workshop project. The project may be one of the two listed below or may be a different related project which is agreed upon by the Teacher of Record (Marilyn Meador). Submit project no later than Friday, May 5, 2000.

    1. Write a summary report of at least five typed pages on Chinese music, stories and/or puppet theater.
      or
    2. Teach Chinese music and/or puppet making to a school group. Make pictures of the products or a videotape of student performance of music or puppet theater.
  4. COLLEGE CREDIT REGISTRATION

    Contact Dr. Meador to request the necessary forms. Payment may be sent directly to Dr. Meador's office. Make out checks to Radford University.
    1. APPLY. If you have not registered for graduate courses at RU during the past six years, submit an application to the RU Graduate School. An undergraduate transcript will be required with the application. There is a $25 application fee.

    2. PAY FEES. Fees for one semester hour credit: $154 (in-state)
      Participants who are currently teaching in Virginia public schools are elibible to apply for the Virginia Educators discount, which gives them a reduced fee ($131). A form requesting the discount rate must be completed.
