Kiwanis Administration made 5 visits to other Kiwanis clubs with 14 members traveling a distance of 1049 miles one way. In return, visited by 7 other Kiwanis clubs with 36 members traveling a distance of 109 miles one way. The following social events were enjoyed: Father and Son night, Agriculture Center Dance, Rockcreek Shelter dance, Christmas country club dance, and various ladies nights.

Seven new members were inducted but we suffered a10% decrease in membership. Sixty committee meetings were held during the year.

Boys and Girls Work made it possible for swimming lessons to a group of boys. Fifteen parkas at a cost of $185 were purchased for the Rockville High School football team. We provided home, food, and clothing for a burned out family. Sponsored a boy's football team and a Boy Scout Athletic Banquet.

Underprivileged Child committee provided transportation for 32 children to circus; pledged two pair of glasses per month to the eye clinic; sent $25 to Maryland School for the Blind; presented 15 layettes to Montgomery County Lay Council at a cost of $75; donated 15 Christmas baskets to needy families; presented food, clothes, and some housing to 63 families; paid bill for morning milk for needy children at the Potomac Elementary School for the past year and donated a wheel chair to the Rockville Public Health department.

Public and Business Affairs helped in forming of the Citizenship Planning Committee. We also conducted a campaign on "Get out the Vote." We purchased an adult-sized whirlpool bath for Psychotherapy patients of the Christ Child Home. Its initial cost is $1000.00.

Agriculture and Conservation raised $500 to underprivileged children from a dance at the Gaithersburg Agriculture center.

Support of Churches in Their Spiritual Aims assisted in St. Mary's Church Carnival and assisted in the production of a Christmas play at Potomac Methodist church.

(From E-Builder, Nov 2004) First chartered on Dec. 11, 1955 (and rechartered 3 times since), the Richard Montgomery High School Key Club held its charter presentation the way the Key Clubbers wanted to - with an ice cream social on October 26, 2004. Sponsoring Rockville Kiwanians John Gilfrich, Tom McIasaac, Bill Stabler, Phyllis Marcuccio, Ruth Hanessian, George Sauer, John Tyner, and Maury Ward attending the celebration to congratuale the 39 charter members and to be sure that the ice cream met Kiwanis standards.

Contributed $500 to Tsunami Relief Effort.
