Kiwanis Administration 24 other Kiwanis clubs were visited with a total attendance of 188, traveling 302 miles. We visited 6 other Kiwanis clubs with 44 visiting Kiwanians traveling a distance of 36 miles one way.
Education and Fellowship promoted and conducted member ceremonies and horseplay for birthdays, anniversaries, illness, death, promotions, notoriety, etc. We conduct a weekly "Chinese Auction" and an attendance prize drawing at each luncheon meeting.
Boys and Girls Work organized an 18 team baseball league with teams sponsored by club members. 120 boys were furnished $800 for uniforms and equipment. Trophies were awarded. We organized a central committee of all civic groups in community and prepared graphic charts of community school facility needs. We also sponsored "Kids Day."
Key Clubs - A Key Club was sponsored in the local High School. We invited two Key club members to Kiwanis meetings and arranged and donated annual award to Key Club member. We furnished transportation and chaperoned 8 Key Club members to Key Club International Convention in Miami, Florida. Our members secured summer jobs for 4 Key Club members.
Underprivileged Child refraction and eyeglasses were provided for a junior High school girl. Our hospital bed was loaned to the Woodbridge, Va., club and our wheelchair was loaned to student health section local High School. We built and installed a Balkan Bed frame for an invalid boy. Training and rehabilitation interviews were held with juvenile delinquents. We paid $200 for dental restorations for a junior High school girl. We distributed food, toys and clothing to needy children.
Public and Business Affairs obtained time over local station and broadcast "Its Fun To Live In America" series. The outstanding man of the year was awarded a plaque. Kiwanis road signs were placed.
Support of Churches in Their Spiritual Aims published articles in newspaper
and broadcast over radio station on the subject "Go To The Church
of Your Choice On Sunday." We made recordings of Sunday church
services and played them to shut-ins.
