Come join us for two days of interesting classes, meeting old friends, and making new ones. We have put together an exciting mix of classes and presenters that should allow everyone to find something they like. Our general theme for 2001 is safety, with Jay Glerum’s Rigging Master Class; Using non-toxic Materials in Prop Construction; The Purchase, Use, and Care of Ladders and Lifts; and Fall Protection in the Theatre. For the Costumer’s there is a full day hands-on workshop on Building a Scottish Kilt, and a Workshop on chain mail construction. Scenic Designers will have a full day workshop on Working in 3D with Rhino, an exciting program from Robert McNeel and Assoc. and a class on Faux Finishes for the Stage. Lighting Design classes include: Using Moving Lights in a Theatre Setting; Using Patterns, Color, and Movement for the Lighting Designer; and New Directions in Stage Lighting, WYSIWYG and ETCnet. On Saturday afternoon we will close out with a big Equipment and Supplies Showcase and Hands-On where you can play with new products and talk to the experts about what’s new in tech theatre.

FACULTY AND PROFESSIONAL
The juried exhibition for
faculty and professionals is open to all educators and professionals currently
living within the region and members of the USITT-SE regional organization. You
are invited to enter a maximum of three entries. You are expected to be
available at the Master Class weekend to discuss your work with as many
students as possible, however, arrangements to display your entry can be made
if you are unable to attend. The respondent may select works to represent the
region at USITT National convention in New Orleans.
STUDENT EXHIBITION
The student exhibition is
intended to provide student designers and technicians with the opportunity to
exhibit their work and to view the work of other student members of the
USITT-SE regional organization. Students will have the opportunity for informal
discussion of their work with other students as well as faculty and
professional designers and technicians from institutions across the region.
Work entered may be in the areas of costumes, scenery,
lighting, props, millinery,
wigs, crafts or other stagecrafts. It may be theoretical or produced. You may
exhibit photographs, models, renderings, lightplots, sketches, thumbnails,
storyboards, and actual pieces. Participants may enter a maximum of three
works, and these should have been done within the past two years. Students will
be responsible for set-up, strike and transportation of their works.
Work exhibited may be photographed for inclusion in
the USITT-SE slide archives. For more information about USITT-SE Design &
