Literary Trails
Study Abroad Trip
2002
For many students, it is hard to imagine the life of a writer from another country. especially if the student has not been to the said country. Thus, it is difficult to understand where the author is coming from, where he/she gets their ideas and what kind of inspiration they had in forming these ideas. The literary trails study abroad trip allows the students a unique opportunity to visit the places where famous writers were born and lived, allows students to see first hand the beauty of another country and take a small peek at what may have inspired great authors such as Joyce, and Yeats to write as they did.
"The world is a great book, of which they who never stir from home read only a page"
-Augustine of Hippo
This site is divided into the three different countries that I visited. Many of the pages contain information learned on the trip or from some of the many books I acquired along the way. Many of the proper names of places, when underlined are links to homepages about that particular thing. Also, many of the pictures are links as well, so feel free to click around anything that is of interest. Here is my journey....
