RU EMS: Join the Pulse of Campus
Debbie Cates | Staff Writer

Are you looking for some excitement? Looking for your heart to pound and adrenaline to rush trough your body?  RU EMS is an exciting adventure filled with lots of people and a great place for new experiences.  If you like to help people, then this is the place for you.  RU EMS is a wonderful way to get involved into the college scene.

Imagine this:  You are hanging out with your crew in the RU EMS duty room when all of the sudden your pager goes off with the tones for an emergency call.  You quickly run to the truck, turn on the flashing lights and sirens and drive to the scene.  You arrive on scene and locate the victim.  With teamwork, you and the crew stabilize the victim. The ambulance arrives, and you help load them into the back. As you pack up the medical bags and ride back to the duty room, you smile, knowing that you did something special.

Volunteering yourself and your time to help someone in need is a feeling that cannot be replaced by any other experience or any amount of money. When you graduate, are you going to be able to say that you made contributions to your university?  Or that you really fulfilled your "college experience?" Through RU EMS you can do both of these things, so come out to Pocahontas Hall, Room 104 for an application.

RU EMS meets the first Monday of every month. The phone number is 831-6900. Stop by Pocahontas Hall, room 104 to pick up an application, and join us!
