Dear Mom and Dad,
I just wanted to write you this letter and let you know how much fun I am
having here at Radford this semester. I know you haven't been down to RU
since my freshman year, so I thought I'd take some photos of the beautiful
campus.
I know you have been worried about me sleeping through my classes, but I
want to tell you that recently it's been really easy to get up at 8 a.m.
for my noon class. Every morning, I wake up to trash trucks, jackhammers,
beeping dump trucks and clanging metal rods. It is so kind of the workers
to labor outside my window. I didn't even ask them to do that! Here at
RU, they go the extra mile for students!
Things are going well for me. Today, I had to stand in a puddle of mud to
let a maintenance truck drive on the sidewalk. The driver was very
friendly. I waved to him, and he pretended not to see me. That was neat.
He must have had a lot on his mind. Someday, I want to be important like
that.
You know, people all over campus talk about how bad the food is at Dalton.
I sure do love it, though. It reminds me of home--you know, those nights
when you and Dad would leave me to make dinner for me and Brian, and we'd
go rooting through the neighbors' trash for leftovers?
Well, I had better get going to class. It normally takes me about 25 extra
minutes to get to my classes now that I have to dodge the slushy snow that
the plow brought onto my front doorstep. I hope you all are doing well.
Please take comfort in knowing that I am happy here in the beautiful campus
setting of Radford University.
