Commission Will Examine Strategic Directions for the Future
The Commission for the Future of Radford University will meet at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, in Heth Hall to examine strategic directions for the university's future.
The Commission's task forces will present their suggested strategic directions encompassing all areas of the university. Throughout the summer, the Commission will consider the proposed directions and select the strategic directions to use as a basis for the university's strategic plan scheduled to be complete by 2007.
"This is a critical time for the Commission. The Commission task forces have synthesized the information they received through surveys, open forums during the Days of Visioning and market research. Members bring to the table their vision for the university. I look forward to continuing this process that will shape Radford's future," says President Penelope W. Kyle.
The Commission was created and is chaired by President Kyle to study the institution's mission and create a strategic plan. Since January, the Commission’s task forces have examined internal and external factors that impact the future of RU, institutional strengths and distinctions, the enhancement and engagement of faculty, undergraduate and graduate education, university governance and the role the university plays economically and culturally in the health and development of the region, the Commonwealth, nation and beyond.
