Equipment at the Clinical Simulation Center
SimMan® is a portable and advanced patient simulator for team training. SimMan® has realistic anatomy and clinical functionality. SimMan ® provides simulation-based education to challenge and test students’ clinical and decision-making skills during realistic patient care scenarios. SimMan® includes well-proven software and an interactive technologically advanced manikin allowing learners to practice the emergency treatment of patients.
SimBaby is the portable advanced infant patient simulator for team training. SimBaby has realistic anatomy and clinical functionality that enables simulation training. SimBaby includes software with video debriefing and an interactive technologically advanced manikin allowing learners to practice the emergency treatment of infant patients.
MegaCode Kelly is a realistic manikin for training in a wide range of advanced life saving skills in pre-hospital emergencies.
MegaCode Kid is a realistic manikin for training in a wide range of pediatric advanced life saving skills in pre-hospital emergencies. MegaCode Kid has a realistic airway, 1400+ ECGs rhythms, defibrillation and pacing capabilities, and allows drug administration and intraosseous infusion to teach emergency skills.
Noelle Maternal and Neonatal Birthing Simulator
This comprehensive teaching system combines the best of patient care simulators with the Advanced Childbirth Simulator. It is designed to provide a complete birthing experience before, during, and after delivery.
The Virtual I.V. is a comprehensive and fully interactive self-directed learning system for training intravenous catheterization. Powerful 3D graphics provide visual realism, while a state-of-the-art force feedback device accurately simulates the sense of touch for a truly immersive experience.
Control Room and Audio/Visual System
The Control Room allows instructors to interact with the students and control the manikins from a central location. There is a laptop computer that runs the manikin software and A/V software. Each room in the Clinical Simulation Center is equipped with two pan-zoom-tilt cameras and a microphone. The audio and video of each scenario is recorded digitally to allow students and instructors an opportunity to discuss the training event during the debriefing session.
