ANSC 488: Final Honors Project

Prerequisites: Enrollment in the Honors Academy, completion of all other Honors Academy requirements, a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA in all anthropological sciences, or permission of instructor

Credit Hours: (3)

Students conduct research and write a thesis for a bachelor’s degree with honors in Anthropological Sciences. In order to receive honors credit, the student must receive a grade of “A” or “B” for the thesis.

Note(s): Course may not be repeated.

Detailed Description of Content of Course

This course has no "content" per se. The student develops his/her own research project in a specific area of interest in anthropology.


Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

The student works independently to complete the project with the guidance of one or more faculty members. Survey and/or ethnographic methods may be utilized.


Goals and Objectives of the Course

Student will have the opportunity to demonstrate superior accomplishments in the discipline, and thereby graduate with honors.


Assessment Measures

The final written project will be evaluated by a committee of departmental faculty chosen by the Chairperson.


Other Course Information

This course cannot be taken for graduate credit.
