FA

Fitness Assistant Application

Fitness Assistants will assist the Group X program by providing customer service and checking people in to classes using a tablet. In addition, FA's will help maintain group fitness studios and equipment and support the program by helping with special events and promotion/marketing.

Requirements: Must be affiliated with Radford University and be eligible to work for the Department of Student Recreation and Wellness, must attend a semesterly staff training, and must possess a CPR/AED and First Aid certification within the first month of employment.

Group X(2)

Group X Instructor Application

Group X instructors are responsible for leading safe and effective workout classes that promote fun, stress reduction, inclusion and motivation. Instructors will provide quality instruction and accurate education. Instructors will also demonstrate excellent time management, communication, professionalism, and skill development.

Requirements: Must be affiliated with Radford University and be eligible to work for the Department of Student Recreation and Wellness, must attend a semesterly staff training, must possess a CPR/AED and First Aid certification within the first month of employment, and must complete either an in-house training OR a primary/specialty fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, Les Mills, Zumba, TRX, MadDogg, YogaFit, etc.)

Fitness Specialist Application

Fitness Specialists are responsible for providing excellent customer service to patrons and to enforce safety and facility policies. S&C Specialists will assist patrons by providing exercise recommendations, feedback on exercise form, and spotting. Specialists will also help maintain a clean fitness environment and promote the Personal Training program.

Requirements: Must be affiliated with Radford University and be eligible to work for the Department of Student Recreation and Wellness, must attend a semesterly staff training, and must possess a CPR/AED and First Aid certification within the first month of employment.

PT(1)

Personal Trainer Application

Personal Trainers are responsible for conducting individual and partner sessions and fitness assessments for the campus community. Trainers will design and implement effective, safe, and individualized workouts to meet their clients’ goals while inspiring lifelong healthy habits, independence, healthy goals, and motivation. Trainers will also demonstrate excellent time management, communication, professionalism, and skill development.

Requirements: Must be affiliated with Radford University and be eligible to work for the Department of Student Recreation and Wellness, must attend a semesterly staff training, must possess a CPR/AED and First Aid certification by the first month of employment, must complete either an in-house training or HHP Personal Training course OR a personal training certification (i.e., ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NETA, etc.) 

FitWELL Internships

Internships are available to students with backgrounds in exercise science, sport administration, health/wellness, health promotion, physical education, marketing/advertising, nutrition, computer science, or student personnel.
