Radford University's COBE to enter memorandum of understanding with Northern Virginia Government Services and Training company

Radford University’s College of Business and Economics (COBE) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Engineering Solutions & Products, LLC (ESP) at 1 p.m., Sept. 30 at the university’s Kyle Hall, room 320.

The purpose of the MOU is to establish a strategic relationship between Radford University, COBE and ESP, which is headquartered in Chantilly. The agreement will benefit the signatories through branding, advertising and growth with a special emphasis on Northern Virginia.

Radford University President Brian O. Hemphill and ESP President and CEO Douglas N. Fouser will sign the agreement to formalize the partnership.

“Through a wide scope of initiatives, Radford and ESP will work together to promote and encourage innovation and to increase opportunities in education, employment and leadership development,” Hemphill said. “It will create better prospects for students and, in turn, build a stronger workforce for our nation.”

The partnership will offer Radford University students “opportunities for internships, full-time positions, class projects and other initiatives that will be developed over time,” said COBE Dean George Low.

“We will also have access to ESP's Training Center of Excellence (TCoE) in Chantilly and the use of an office in their corporate headquarters,” Low said. “This will be very helpful as we consider revenue-generating programs that engage executives in Northern Virginia through the COBE’s Center for Innovation and Analytics and other college programs.”

“We are excited about the relationship between ESP and Radford University. Both entities are recognized for their high level of training - Radford’s top quality education for their students and ESP’s high quality instruction to the U.S. and other countries Government agencies,” Fouser said.

Before the signing, Fouser will participate in COBE’s Executive in Residence program, in which executives visit campus to engage with students, faculty and the campus community through classroom sessions, lectures, one-on-one meetings and campus-wide forums. Fouser will meet with students and faculty on Sept. 29 and 30.

ESP is a successful, growing, mid-sized company that provides training and support to U.S. government agencies throughout the world. More information can be found at www.espus.com.
