Radford University’s student body has become increasingly more diverse in recent years.

The minority student population reached an all-time high of 32.5 percent in 2015, up from 12 percent just a decade earlier. African American students now comprise 17 percent of the student body, up from 6 percent in 2005. WSLS 10 highlighted the increased diversity at Radford.

Aggressive recruiting in parts of Texas and California, as well as other parts of Virginia, is credited with part of that increase.

To help everyone in the Radford family succeed, there is a Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) at the university.

A goal for the CDI is to help students transition into college and to have students become more involved in everyday activities.
