The Election Central features a plethora of activities in which all students may participate:

  • Both the Quad Side and Main Street Side Atrium Video Walls tuned to election results, along with free food at both locations
  • Associate Professor Scott Dunn, School of Communication, is discussing media coverage in this year’s presidential campaign at 6 p.m. in CHBS 1006
  • Assistant Professor Adrienne Jones, Department of Political Science, is discussing Voter ID laws’ influence on voter turnout at 6 p.m. in CHBS 3020
  • Assistant Professor Theresa Schroeder, Department of Political Science, is discussing the role of gender in this year’s presidential campaign at 6 p.m. in CHBS 3024

Election Central will feature the election results and is available for all Radford University faculty, staff and students to watch and discuss the results of the 2016 presidential election starting at 8 p.m. in CHBS 1016.

“Come witness history,” Schroeder said. “No matter which candidate wins the presidential election, it will be groundbreaking. The winner will either be the first woman to become president or the first candidate to win the presidency without holding prior office. Join the campus community for this historic event and watch the results unfold.”

The event is co-sponsored by the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences, the Department of Political Science and the School of Communication.
