Student organizers are busy planning for Radford University's Relay For Life.

The cancer research fundraiser is scheduled for April 16 at the university's Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The theme of this year's event is "Carnival" and will feature fun activities on the center's MAC court from 6 p.m. to midnight.

Ally Hoover, director of Radford's Relay For Life Planning Committee, said organizers have been working hard to make the event "even better than those in the past."

Relay For Life is the world's largest fundraising movement to fight cancer. Since 1985, the effort has raised more than $5 billion.

A survivor/caregiver dinner is scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. in the cycling room, located on the first floor of the recreation center. Following the meal, activities will begin on the MAC court, including a two-person obstacle course, a ring toss, free food and more.
