Holiday Food Drive to fill local food pantries

Holiday Food Drive (2)

During the holidays, many families not only go without presents, they go without food as well.

The Radford University community is encouraged to donate to the Holiday Food Drive this month to ensure that no family goes hungry this holiday season.

Organized annually by Radford's Greek Life community, the drive's goal is 10,000 pounds of food, which will be donated to area food pantries.

Participants can drop non-perishable food items off at the Hurlburt Student Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Dec. 9. Volunteers will be set up at a table to collect the items.

On Dec. 10, volunteers will collect food at the men's basketball game versus Elon University in the Dedmon Center at 4 p.m. Each fan is encouraged to bring at least one food item.

The annual drive is sponsored by Radford's Greek Life Office, the Interfraternal Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council and the Panhellenic Council.
