International Guitar Festival brings global style to Radford University

Maharajah Flamenco Trio will be just one act to grace the Performance Hall in the Covington Center during the festival. The trio's music builds upon Flamenco Puro styles and blends them with international traditions such as jazz, tango and salsa.

The 15th annual Radford University International Guitar Festival will bring internationally renowned guitarists to the Performance Hall in the Covington Center for the Visual and Performing Arts April 8-9.

The International Guitar Festival draws audiences from around Virginia and beyond, with regular visitors from Maryland, North Carolina and New York.

This year, four acts will bring their diverse, international approaches and styles to campus. They are:

  • Cavatina Duo (Spain and Bosnia)
  • Marcin Dylla (Poland)
  • Maharajah Flamenco Trio (Tallahassee, Florida)
  • Luciano Cesar Morais (Brazil)
  • Rob Plier ‘14 (Reston, Virginia)

On April 8, events begin at 4 p.m. and continue through midnight. On April 9, the festival begins again at 10 a.m. and continues through 8 p.m.

Admission to the International Guitar Festival is free. All events are held in the Covington Center (corner of Jefferson Street and Main Street, Radford, Virginia).
