Camaraderie, not camouflage, was the order of the day as the Military Resource Center saluted the women veterans past and present among Radford University’s students, faculty and staff with a pinning ceremony and reception on Thursday, March 23.

The inaugural edition of Highlander Highlights focuses on students participating in the “Experiential Learning on Display” program, as well as students who learned from media moguls in New York and those who planted trees in Eastern Kentucky to help with replenishing the forest on mining sites. 

Courtney Watson, Ph.D., a professor of English at Radford University Carilion in Roanoke, is known for her prolific travels around the world. In March, however, Watson made a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Women of the World International Conference, hosted by the faculty of education in the English department at Alexandria University in Egypt.

The Radford University Board of Visitors held their quarterly meetings on March 23-23, 2023 and heard updates on university progress and goals.  

Radford University men's basketball senior, Shaquan Jules, competed in the King’s Hawaiian Slam Dunk Championship in Houston, Texas on Thursday, March 30.

Rachel Davis Fowlkes, Ed.D., passed away Saturday, April 1. She was serving her second term on the Radford University Board of Visitors and was the Board Liaison to the Radford University Foundation.

Maddison Kunkel knew she wanted to be a Highlander from the moment she stepped foot on campus during a high school field trip. After participating in a class exercise, she immediately said, "This is where I'm going. This is exactly where I want to be."

Radford University Board of Visitors will consider tuition and mandatory fee rates for the 2023-2024 academic year at a special-called meeting on April 28, 2023.
