Traditions Week marks milestones and celebrates the accomplishments of Radford University students.

Senior College of Nursing student Laura Ratcliffe began her education at Radford University thinking she wanted to work with geriatric patients. Four years later, she finds herself on the opposite end of the care spectrum.

“By the end of this year, we will become a $4 billion company,” Smith, the president and CFO of K-VA-T Food Stores, told the crowd at the April 4 event in Kyle Hall. In the face of such success, however, he maintains a humble designation for himself: “I'm a second-generation grocer."

When it comes to getting involved and helping others, Yajuwamungu Bora, a junior at Radford University, has set an example as a role model through his work engaging and uplifting his peers.

Radford University welcomed back one of its own, Marty Smith ’98, for a special production on March 23. Smith, now a prominent figure on ESPN, hosted a three-hour show called “Marty & McGee,” which was broadcast live from the School of Communication TV studio.

For their packaging, logos, labels, posters and branding designs, Radford University students took home more awards than any other competing college or university.
