    In mid-July, 20 young women participated in Radford University’s annual Summer Bridge: Women in STEM program, a week-long residential camp for female high school students. The program offers hands-on learning experiences and provides a window into the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and careers.

    The days of a typical summer camp are filled with fun, from sports and games to arts, crafts and snack time. The camps hosted by Master of Occupational Therapy students at Radford University Carilion this summer offered all that and more: the chance for campers to build their cognitive, physical/motor, sensory and social skills while their hosts gained real-world clinical experience.
