Hometown: Row E, Plot 7, Sunrise Cemetery
Major: Nursing in the Waldron College of Health and Human Services; minor in psychology in the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences

When Zelda Zombie realized she had been reanimated, her first priority was finishing her education at Radford University.

“I really enjoyed college when I was alive,” she said. “After we became undead, the other zombies headed toward the New River Mall to eat the brains of shoppers. I decided I wanted to go back to school to finish my education in nursing and psychology. I’ve been fascinated by the human brain and the way it functions and tastes with spaghetti sauce ever since I was reanimated.”

Zelda was pleased to discover that Radford’s Student Health Center offered limb re-attachment; having been decomposing for nearly three decades, her arms were frequently falling off in class.

“I would raise my hand and my arm would just fall on the floor,” she said. “I guess that’s a problem that comes with being a zombie. But the people at the health center have always been happy to sew it back on.”

After graduation, Zelda hopes to pursue a career in the film industry.

“I am sure I could be an extra on ‘The Walking Dead.’”

Zelda, portrayed by nursing student Taylor Huslak, was photographed in the Radford University Alumni Gardens. Her make-up was designed by theatre student Lyndsay Halpin.
