Fall Dance Fest opens Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016. Radford University’s dance students use this annual event to move us into fall. This year features works by Department of Dance faculty danah bella, Deborah McLaughlin, Inessa Plekhanova, Amy VanKirk and new faculty member
Ji-Eun Lee. They have created a full program of innovative choreography highlighting a wide variety of dance genres including Modern Dance, Classical Ballet and Jazz.

“’The Encounter’ is a piece I started last spring and have added two more sections for Fall Fest,” McLaughlin said about her work, “It has to do with the exploration of a young woman’s psyche.”

VanKirk’s “Down the Line” is a premiere work inspired by the lively streets of New Orleans. The piece features nine dancers and embodies the dynamic spirit of the music.

Additionally, a re-setting of Lee’s “Sacred Dream,” a premiere by danah bella and a sneak peek of “Nutcracker” round out the program.

Dancers include Claudia Anderson, Kari Argabright, Caroline Beard, Jamie Becker, Abigail Burton, Zoe Couloumbis, Sarah Danceau, Nicole Diambra, Brenna Featherston, Megan Fincher, Rachel Gattoni, Caitlin Godsey, Isabella Gordineer, Celinna Haber, Beth Hartstock, Maria Hildebrand, Shandi Honaker, Tabitha Kirk, Victoria Lipnicky, Madison Little, Brigiitte Manga, Gwyneth Martin, Courtney McClendon, Kathryn Meeks, Alexis Miller, Lauren Murphy, Kelly Noah, Fiona O’Brien, Allison Richter, Matthew Robinson, Fiona Scruggs, Arianne Thompson, Victoria Unterberger, Denise Urban, Keagan Vickers, Cassie Williams, Sebrena Williamson and Krista Zimmerman.
