Three casts for three great plays this fall

The Radford University Department of Theatre and Cinema announces its casts for three fall semester theatre productions. The plays are “The Waiting Room” by Lisa Loomer, “The Zoo Story” by Edward Albee, and “The Cat in the Hat” adapted and originally directed by Katie Mitchell, based on the book by Dr. Seuss.

“The Waiting Room,” directed by Jennifer Juul, associate professor of theatre, is an imaginative and fearless examination of medical ethics, societal expectations and the ageless quest for ideal physical beauty. This Pridemore Playhouse main stage production runs Oct. 13-Oct. 18.

Cast list:

“The Zoo Story” is a directed by theatre student Shieh’Ron Freeman. Edward Albee’s landmark play focuses on a battle for a bench that threatens to turn bloody when a desperate man tries to tell his story about a mysterious happening at the zoo. Performed in the Hawes Studio Theatre, this production is onstage from Nov. 4-8.

Cast list:

“The Cat in the Hat” is Assistant Professor Robyn Berg’s directorial debut here at Radford University. This is the famous story of how a crafty cat and his minions Thing 1 and Thing 2 liven up a rainy day for young Sally and her brother. The Pridemore Playhouse production for young audiences performs twice for the public on Dec. 5.
