    In the short time since she graduated from Radford University, Arielle Retting ’12 has built an impressive career in journalism as a writer and editor with such national media outlets as the Washington Post, Wired magazine and most recently NPR. During the fall semester, the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences Advisory Board presented Retting with its 2021 Outstanding Alumni Award.

    The inaugural Wicked Festival brought together almost 100 students from courses in political science, philosophy, peace studies and Appalachian studies to present their possible solutions for persistent public problems, also known as wicked problems.
