RU Planetarium Presents Skywatchers of Africa

RADFORD – Radford University’s Planetarium in Curie Hall will present Skywatchers of Africa every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m. until November 22. The show is free and open to the public.  It tells the story of many cultures in Africa and their relationship to the sky.

Skywatchers of Africa premiered March 2002 at the Adler Museum Planetarium in Chicago. It demonstrates how many African cultures use astronomy to understand and explain human behavior. The Dogon people of Mali, the normadic Tuareg, and the ancient Egyptians are highlighted.

This presentation is the first of many performances planned for the 2007 – 2008 academic year.  For more information, contact Rhett Herman at (540) 831-5441.
