A Glimpse of Yellowstone National Park at RU

RADFORD – Radford University geology professor Parvinder Sethi will offer a photographic tour of Yellowstone National Park on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in McGuffey Hall, room 203. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Yellowstone National Park is a place born of volcanic violence. “It is the site of past major volcanic eruptions.” Geology department chair Stephen Lenhart says “Fortunately for us, the next big eruption is not predicted to be within our lifetime, and we can enjoy the wonders and the beauty of the park.”

Each month the Geology Department will conduct a lecture on a new and exciting geological topic. Each lecture is open and free to the public. The goal of the lecture series is to introduce the science of geology in a non-threatening and entertaining manner.
