Professors Discuss Serial Killers, Suicide Bombers on With Good Reason
RADFORD Radford University Professor Emeritus Mike Aamodt and economics Professor Basel Saleh will be featured on the With Good Reason radio program beginning Friday. The program will air Oct. 24-30. Aamodt will discuss his database that profiles more than 1,700 serial killers from around the world. The data was collected, in part, to determine whether the commonly used profile of a serial killer is accurate. Also on the program, Saleh will discuss his research into the socioeconomic indicators focused on suicide militants in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Saleh was quoted and his study was cited in a CNN.com article in August. With Good Reason airs on 10 public radio stations throughout Virginia and Washington, D.C., and can be anytime online at withgoodreasonradio.org. The program is broadcast on Public Radio WVRU 89.9 FM in Radford at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. With Good Reason presents timely, extended coverage of issues that challenge how we view the world and ourselves. Each week, scholars from Virginia's public colleges and universities explore the worlds of literature, science, the arts, politics, history and business, connecting their research to what is happening now. RU is a proud member of the Virginia Higher Education Broadcasting Consortium, which produces With Good Reason. |
