Works by Artist Janet Fish Displayed at RU

RADFORD – In Fullness of Light, an exhibition by artist Janet Fish, begins Friday, Nov. 2, at the Radford University Art Museum Downtown, 1129 East Main St., Radford. The show runs through Wednesday, Nov. 28. The opening reception is 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7. Art professor Roann Barris will present a talk on Fish at 5:30 p.m., at the opening reception.

Preserved PeachesFisher is a contemporary painter and printmaker and is known for her association with the photo-realist movement. A graduate of the Yale University School of Art and Architecture, Fisher was one of the first women to receive a Master of Fine Arts degree from Yale. Her main interest is still life painting but her works also include figures and landscapes.

The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public. Downtown museum hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Saturday, noon - 4 p.m. The museum will be closed November 17 - 25 in observance of Thanksgiving break.
