RADFORD -- Radford University welcomes alumni back to campus for Black Alumni Weekend on Friday, Oct. 12 – Sunday, Oct. 14. The weekend includes a variety of networking and family-oriented activities aimed at fostering a sense of RU pride and uniting friends, old and new. Registration and the networking reception is Friday, 5 – 7 p.m. in Heth Lounge C.

The RU Black Alumni Chapter chose this year's theme, "Reaching Back and Pushing Forward," to emphasize the chapter's focus on supporting current students by serving as mentors and offering guidance. RU seniors should attend Friday's networking reception. Current students are invited to join the other festivities, including the Alumni Step Show on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Bondurant Auditorium followed by the After Party in Heth Ballroom from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Other events include Saturday's discussion session, "State of the Black Community," the BAW Barbecue and Highlanders Festival, and the Alumni Basketball Game.  The weekend concludes on Sunday with the Farewell Brunch.
