Author of Wild Fermentation Comes to RU

RADFORD - Radford University will welcome self-described fermentation revivalist Sandor Ellix Katz to campus on Tuesday, March 25 at 7 p.m. in Muse Banquet Hall. Katz is a cultural revivalist, activist and author who travels teaching fermentation skills and talking about grassroots food movements.

Sandor KatzKatz is the author of Wild Fermentation: The Flavor, Nutrition, and Craft of Live-Culture Foods and The Revolution Will Not be Microwaved: Inside America’s Underground Food Movements both published by Chelsea Green Publishing Company. He has been featured on NPR’s Science Friday. A native of New York City and graduate of Brown University, Katz has been fermenting foods and drinks for 14 years. He says his mission is to “propel more live-culture foods out into our culture.”

The Office of New Student Programs is sponsoring Katz’s lecture as a RU Connections program.  The event is free and open to the public.
