Music Department Concerts March 24 and 25

RADFORD -- Radford University’s Department of Music will have concerts March 24 and March 25, at 8 p.m., in Bondurant Auditorium, Preston Hall.

The spring percussion concert on Monday, March 24, features guest artist Mohammed DaCosta, a master drummer and dancer. Focusing on large percussion orchestral compositions, the concert includes chamber works from a wide spectrum of percussion repertoire. DaCosta’s performance is part of RU International Education Program’s celebration of African culture.

On Tuesday, March 25, RU professor David Brandon Phillips will present a solo piano recital with music from a variety of stylistic periods. Phillips is known for his unusual and eclectic performances. The recital includes pieces from the standard repertoire and original works.
