RU's Immigration Counselor Selected for NAFSA Trainer Corps Program
RADFORD -- Teresa Dalton King, assistant director and immigration counselor at Radford University's International Education Center, has been selected by NAFSA: Association of International Educators to the Trainer Corps program.
Founded in 1948 with the name National Association of Foreign Student Advisers, NAFSA's mission was to promote the professional development of American college and university officials responsible for assisting and advising the 25,000 foreign students who had come to study in the United States after World War II. “I am honored to represent RU as a member of NAFSA’s Trainer Corps. It is both personally and professionally rewarding, and allows an opportunity to highlight many of the initiatives we’ve begun here at RU’s International Education Center,” says King. As a Trainer Corps member, King may serve as a trainer, table moderator, and/or Lead Trainer for Core Education Program workshops offered by NAFSA. Corps members deliver standardized workshop curriculum at various training venues including the NAFSA Annual Conference, Regional Conference, On-Demand, and Summer Institute workshops. She will attend the Training of Trainers workshop at the NAFSA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. in May. |
