Museum of the Earth Sciences Hosts Lecture about Whale Fossils and Virginia's Past
RADFORD Radford University’s Museum of the Earth Sciences in the College of Science and Technology presents “B.D.W.’s Using Big Dead Whales to Understand the Past,” on Thursday, March 6 at 7 p.m. in the Hurlburt Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public. Alton Dooley, assistant curator of paleontology at the Virginia Museum of Natural History in Martinsville, will discuss how excavations of fossil whale skeletons found in the Caramel Church Quarry in eastern Virginia has revealed surprising facts, and raised interesting new questions about Virginia’s past.
