RADFORD -- Subscribers to the RU alert notification service received phone calls, text messages and emails early this morning about the sighting of a suspicious person in Muse Hall. The suspect was identified and the situation resolved shortly before 3 a.m.

"No individuals were in danger; it was a misunderstanding," said Lt. Mike Baker, RUPD public information officer. "But to be on the safe side, we decided to issue the alert notification. Students in Muse Hall took the right action to notify police. We should all be alert to any suspicious activity and when in doubt, err on the side of caution."
