The Music of Brahms To Be Presented at RU Wednesday
RADFORD Faculty in the Radford University Department of Music will present a concert featuring the music of Johannes Brahms on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 8 p.m., in the Norwood Room of the Bondurant Center for the Arts, 1129 East Main St. Soprano Jenice Riebe, tenor Donald George, baritone David Castonguay, and pianists Nitza Kats and Lucy Mauro will be joined by guest artist mezzo-soprano Jennifer Capaldo of Longwood University. The program includes solo piano and art songs by Brahms, including the Lullaby and Futile Serenade. The first half of the concert includes readings from his letters and a pictorial biography. The Liebeslieder Waltzes are featured in the second portion, with surtitles by Paul Zweifel. Admission is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served during intermission.
