RADFORD – Radford University music faculty Clarity James, contralto, and Robert Trent, guitarist, will present a faculty recital on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 8 p.m., in Radford University’s Bondurant Auditorium, Preston Hall.

The program includes romances of 16th century, vihuela song, German lieder, contemporary work by Frank Wallace and pieces by P.D.Q. Bach.

James is director of RU’s opera ensemble and workshops. Her performances include concerts at New York City Opera, Vienna Staatsoper, Chicago Lyric Opera, Houston Grant Opera, Santa Fe Opera and Dallas Opera. Trent directs the guitar studies program and guitar ensemble. He is founder of the annual International Guitar Festival, held each spring at RU.
