Recent state-wide discussions have addressed admissions policies and the possible matriculation of illegal aliens at Virginia’s public colleges and universities. Attention to this issue resulted in a number of newspaper articles on the topic. In order to keep the campus community informed and up to date about Radford's policy on the matter, the University has released the following statement:

Radford University Statement on Admissions Policy
Regarding Application by Non-Documented Aliens

Radford University does not knowingly admit or enroll students who are in the country illegally. As part of the University’s application process, all prospective students must indicate their place of residence and are asked if they are citizens of the United States.

Any applicant who indicates that he is not a U.S. citizen must submit to the University a valid alien registration number and provide a copy of his green card.

On rare occasion, a prospective student may indicate that he does not have a green card, but has begun the formal process of application for legal resident status. In such cases, the University will continue to review the student’s credentials and academic application, pending the successful completion of resident alien status.

Fewer than 10 applicants per year fit into this category, and Radford University believes there are no illegal aliens currently enrolled at the institution.
