RU Hosts Two January Art Exhibitions

RADFORD – Radford University art galleries have two exhibitions opening in January. Jen Blazina: Recollections opens Monday, Jan. 7, in Gallery 205, Powell Hall. Exhibition hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - noon and 1 - 5 p.m. Whither Geometry opens Monday, Jan. 10, in Martin Gallery, Powell Hall 200. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and weekends noon - 4 p.m.

Jen Blazina exhibitJen Blazina: Recollections is an installation focusing on rites of passage and moments of change in an American woman’s life. Repetition is used throughout the exhibition as a metaphor for the fragmentation of memory. The show runs through February 15. (Left: from "Nesting," by Jen Blazina.)

Nine 21st century artists are featured in Whither Geometry, each offering a different perspective on the Phileban solids and their embellishments. The opening reception is Friday, Jan. 18, 5 p.m., in Martin Gallery. This exhibition will be on display through February 18. (Right: "My Grid," one of the works featured in Whither Geometry.)
