RU Kicks Off Women's History Month with Guest Speaker

RADFORD -- Radford University Women’s History Month opens with author and scholar Wilma Dunaway who will speak on Friday, Feb. 29, at 4 p.m. in the Hurlburt Auditorium.  The event is free and open to the public.

Her talk, “Never Safe in the Family Way: Challenging the Dominant Paradigm in U.S. Slavery Studies,” is sponsored by the RU Women’s Studies Club and the CPC in honor of African American History Month and Women’s History Month.

Dunaway’s lecture initiates a month packed with noteworthy faculty and student organized panels, papers, art displays and discussion groups exploring this year’s theme “Know Your History, Know Yourself, Build the Future.”
