Concert Celebrates Valentine's Day
RADFORD -- A concert celebrating Valentine’s Day will be presented Tuesday, Feb. 12, 8 p.m., in the Norwood Room of the Bondurant Center for the Arts, 1129 East Main St., Radford. The event is sponsored by the Radford University music department. “Yearning for the Beloved: An Evening of German Songs” features baritone Lynn Thompson and pianist Chung-Ha Kim. The program includes Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte (To the Distant Beloved) and Schumann’s Dichterliebe (The Poet's Love). Thompson and Kim will present a master class on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 3 - 4 p.m., in RU’s Powell Hall 101. Performances include music by RU students Clara Lee, Rachel Matthews, Andrew Goins, Joshua Younger, Nichole Roles and Ashley Wilkinson. Admission is free and open to the public.
