RU Names Cathy Greenberg VP for University Advancement
RADFORD -- Radford University has named Cathy Greenberg as the vice president for university advancement. Greenberg, who came to RU in October as associate vice president for university advancement and was subsequently named interim vice president, will be responsible for the private fundraising efforts to support the university and for the management of the advancement staff. She assumes this position just as the university considers launching a major capital campaign celebrating the university’s 100th year, which will occur in 2010. “I am pleased to announce Cathy Greenberg as our vice president for university advancement,” said Penelope Kyle, president of RU. “She will serve an integral role as we move forward with the many new and exciting initiatives planned for the future of this university.”
“My job is to get the message out about what we want to accomplish and the private financial support we need to achieve our goals,” said Greenberg. “Radford University is on the fast track to becoming one of the nation’s top 50 master’s institutions. This is an extraordinary place to be and an exciting time to be here. I don’t know that I have ever worked in an environment that is more welcoming or filled with nicer people.” Greenberg has a background in development and in administration, serving in several positions, including interim vice president for advancement at Hollins University, director of administration at Virginia Tech and executive director of Virginia Tech’s Center for Regional Strategies. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech, a master’s degree from Hollins University and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Virginia Tech. |
