RU Names Colleen Roberts as New Chief of Police
RADFORD Radford University has named Colleen Roberts as the new chief of police. Currently serving as deputy chief for the Christopher Newport University Police Department (CNUPD), Roberts will join the university on August 31. “I am pleased to announce Colleen Roberts as the new RU police chief,” said Norleen Pomerantz, vice president for student affairs. “She has extensive experience working with university students and currently supervises 54 sworn and non-sworn employees of the CNUPD. Lieutenant Roberts will be an excellent addition to a police department dedicated to ensuring the safety of our campus community.”
“I am very excited and look forward to working with the Radford University Police Department and RU community,” said Roberts. “It is both humbling and exhilarating to be given the opportunity to work with RUPD. This agency will continue to provide a high standard and level of service, safety and security to a community that creates an environment conducive to learning, growth and the success of students.” Roberts previously served as police sergeant and police officer for CNUPD and was a trooper with the Virginia State Police. |
